A dramatised origin story of one of Germanys 9-year-old self in 1972 Germany, where Hans-Peter is just a pudgy boy growing up in a cheerful family, that is until his mother succumbs to depression and eventually takes her own life. His family life now dark and despondent, his father leaves him in the care of his two grandmothers, whose love helps the young boy survive. He uses his comedic talents to not only heal himself with laughter, but also those around him.
